April 2023 (as seen in Hagley Village News)

April always seems to bring joy and expectation, with the prospect of Spring, hopefully, the weather improving and days getting longer. For the artist, it is a great time of year, with natural colours changing, the light reappearing and inspiration around every corner. Time to get outside, fellow artists, there are exhibitions to prepare for!

April looked like slim pickings at first as I can’t tell you about the AGM as at the time of printing it hasn’t happened yet and we were unsure about having a meeting on Easter Monday. Then we had the opportunity to get John Maule Ffinch so couldn’t give up a chance of one of his glorious watercolour demonstrations.

So, we’ve had a wonderful year, with a very wide range of artists and more to look forward to with John on the 10th April, Dianne Marshall in May painting animals in oils, then on with acrylics and watercolours, you name it!
